Q: Who is your staff?
A: Our staff is a fun-loving crew who truly want to make your event a huge success. Although we do not have a large staff, they all pull their own weight and work hard for our clients. Our clients have always found our employees to be nice, fun to talk to, and hard working. We try to make sure that our employees are happy, and we feel this shows in thier work quality. Q: Which areas do you serve? Do you charge travel and set-up fees?
A: We serve Orange County and surrounding areas. Many DJs will charge you for their DJ service, and then charge you an extra $100 or more for set-up. We do NOT have any hidden fees. All set-up fees are already included in our DJ packages. And our travel fee is also included for the first 25 miles. After 25 miles of travel from Lake Forest 92630, we are available for just $0.50 per mile.
Q: Who will DJ my event?
A: DJ Eric Menzies is our Lead DJ, so in most cases he will be your DJ. However, due to increasing popularity, he may already be booked for your date. So we have scouted, tested, and observed some of the finest DJs in Southern California. After finding the best, we narrowed our list down to the best of the best and those DJs remain with EM Entertainment and Events. If DJ Eric Menzies is already booked on your date, we will send the next best DJ to your event. You will ALWAYS be notified before you book if DJ Eric will not be at your event. Q: When will you set-up?
A: It depends on your event and the equipment necessary. For a more casual party, it will usually take about 30 - 45 minutes to set-up for your event. In this case we would arrive 60 minutes prior to your event. For a more formal event or wedding, set-up will take about 45 - 60 minutes. In this case we would arrive 90 minutes prior. However, if you need your DJ to set-up at a specific time, we will accommodate your request.
Q: How is your attire?
A: We dress to impress! We will always ask you what form of attire is requested. We will wear a tuxedo to your formal events, and casual wear to your pool party. If you have a special theme, we will do our best to match it. Just let us know!
Q: Do you provide the music for my wedding?
A: Absolutely! We have a special wedding package that includes one hour of our clearest sounding speakers, music DJ, microphone stand, and a wireless microphone to better hear the Justice of the Peace or clergy performing the ceremony. We will play the exact songs you want to hear before, during, and after the ceremony. We can also make CDs with the songs you selected, which will be passed out to your guests to take home.
Q: Do you offer Karaoke?
A: We have karaoke services and a karaoke DJ available.
Q: What type of music do you offer? Do you take requests?
A: We play all kinds of music. We strive to make sure we have all the songs you and your guests want to hear, and all of our DJs have great music knowledge. In addition to our large music library, we encourage you to provide a song request list with a few of your favorite songs. Do your guests have song requests? We'll play them. Before your event, your guests can submit their favorite requests online! And at the event we take all appropriate requests, and work them into our list based on crowd reaction.
Q: Do you beat-mix?
A: We sure do. The key to great party music is the music programming, and that's one of the main reasons people hire DJs. We flow from song to song smoothly so as to interrupt the beat as little as possible. And unlike some DJs who will only play what they like to hear/"specialize in", we play what you and your guests want to hear.
Q: What type of equipment do you use?
A: We use simply the best, including: Stanton, Numark, Technics, Odyssey, Dell, B52, Carvin, Nady, Sure, Digital Reference, Road Runner, Monster, Live Wire, Pro Line, American DJ, Chauvet, and more. All of our equipment is tested regularly and is replaced after a certain amount of "performance hours" are met. Beware of DJs who use home stereo equipment! Even the finest home stereo and surround sound systems will NOT suffice for good quality sound at an event. And be extremely cautious of DJs who will use only a lap top with a basic software (like iTunes) or even just show up with an iPod! Q: Do you offer any kind of light show?
A: In addition to our Event Lighting, we also have Dance Floor Lighting. Every DJ package comes complete with a great light show that will add a great visual for your guests. Our lighting equipment includes: Single and Duo Scanners, Barrel Effect Scanners, Lasers, Strobes, LED Lights, Par Cans, Fog and Bubble Machines, Complete Truss Systems, and More.
